In Person Somatic Therapy
Investment: $125
In person therapy is conducted in the north east suburbs of Melbourne at either my home studio in leafy Eltham or a nearby location. These involve a mix of both in and outdoor sessions that consist of somatic movement, body awareness and walk and talk therapy combined with traditional techniques and modalities.
-
Somatic therapy is a body based approach that helps you work with your nervous system and not just your thoughts.
Instead of focusing too much on or constantly talking about stress or patterns, we pay attention to what your body is actually doing. Tension, breath, posture and their emotional reactions. We then use gentle techniques to release stored stress, settle the system and build regulation.
It’s grounding, trauma aware and focused on helping your body shift out of survival and fight or flight mode so you can feel more balanced, connected and in control.

Well, that depends! Some people prefer the odd sessions here or there to address specific concerns, while others find that long-term is most beneficial. I suggest starting with a 15 minute discovery call followed by an initial session to see if we’re a good fit, and from there, we can decide together what approach will work best. I am very honest and will tell you after the initial session if I feel you would be better helped by a colleague or someone in a different area of mental health. I’ll also let you know when I feel that you’re in a good place and can step back or drop to less sessions to save your money. Somatic Therapy is here to meet your needs at any given time.
Think of this as an ongoing thing that ebbs and flows through various stages of your life. I will be someone who knows you well and is there to support you as your world evolves. Lots of people return to therapy over the years, even after extended breaks, whenever new challenges arise.
